SCHOOL RULES AND REGULATIONS

Students must be in class by 8:00 AM, on entering school, they must swipe their student’s card. If you forget it you have to inform the teacher present.

For absences, early exits and late entries, it is necessary to have a justification signed by a parent on the electronic register.
If you do not justify your absences, your behaviour grade may be lowered.

If you live far away from school and you have to catch the bus to arrive in class on time, you must have a special justification for any delay. It’s not permitted to enter school after 09:50 nor leave before 11:30.

Over the entire school year it is compulsory to attend at least 66% of the lessons for each subject.

You must wear appropriate clothing at school and be respectful to fellow students,
teaching and non-teaching staff.

Students must not use their phone except during supervised activities authorized by the teacher. It is not permitted to listen to music while walking from class to other places, such as the school gym, laboratories or on school visits.

If you are lent an object belonging to the school, you are held responsible for any eventual damage.

There is a 10 minute break between every two lessons during which you must behave correctly and you are not allowed to leave the school. It is only permitted to go to the school secretaries' offices during the breaks.

Students must stay in their classroom during the lessons; if they need to leave the
classroom temporarily they must be given permission by their teacher.
Between classes and if the teacher is not there students must remain in their classrooms.

If there is a school strike students may decide not to come to school and inform the host family but the absence must be justified.

Students have the right to have class meetings once a month for a length of a maximum of two lessons to discuss the class problems and planning.

Smoking in, around or near the school is forbidden: if students break the rules they will have to face serious consequences.

Students who break the rules face consequences that correspond to the gravity of the situation, such as:
1. verbal warnings
2. written warnings
3. suspension
4. expulsion

The people allowed to give warnings are:
- teachers
- the school principal
- the school board

If a student is suspended and considers it unfair he/she can make an appeal to the School Board within 15 days.
